As the tradition goes, the very next Monday following the prestigious sporting event, Hootie & the Blowfish hold a charity golf tournament at “The Dye Club” at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach, SC.  What started out as a small get together to raise money for charity in 1994, has evolved into one of the top Celebrity Pro-Ams in the country. Thanks to the commitment of Hootie & the Blowfish, the MAM has generated millions of dollars for children’s educational programs and the South Carolina junior golf program. Darius, Dean, Mark and Soni remain true to their philanthropic roots in hosting this one-of-a-kind event. This charity event is host to many celebrities, such as; Sports Celebrities, Actors, Musicians, Comedians, etc.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event scheduled for 2020 was cancelled.  Everyone was looking forward to 2021, hoping for a safe and controlled environment in which to hold the event, once again.

Unfortunately, as we all know, 2021 has not panned out to be such a safe year after all.  Taking the publics safety as first priority, event planners decided to postpone the 2021 event that was scheduled for April 11th and postponed it for Saturday, September 11th – 13th.  Tragically enough,  the virus has continued to plaque our nation not only with the original Covid-19 strain, but now with the Covid-19 Variant strain.

As the number of  infections increase around the country, the event planners have recently decided to officially cancel this years 2021 event.  Organizer’s stated on MAM’s Website ( https://hootiegolf.com/   )

” We are encouraged by the gradual return to live events and are eager to celebrate Monday After the Masters together again, however, we have decided to continue to err on the side of caution and will not offer spectator tickets for the 2021 event.  We look forward to sharing plans for future events with you in 2022!”

Wishing everyone a healthy and safe 2021!
