The New and Improved Palmetto Greens Golf and C.C.

Myrtle Beach, SC - January 24, 2008 -- Palmetto Greens G.C. formerly known as Colonial Charters has had a breathtaking facelift over the past couple of years. Colonial Charters closed in 2006 not knowing whatwas in store except a major overhaul by designer Rick Robbins. Palmetto Greens emerged as a fresh breath of golf for members and is on its way to Palmetto Greens Logobeing one of the best courses in the Myrtle Beach area. Accepting public play beginning March 13, 2008, Palmetto Greens is ready to show off its new layout, design and pure playability.
The course itself had to be designed to rival some of the newest and more attractive courses in the area. The layout conforms to not only the residential plan, but the natural roll of land formations that are characteristic to only Myrtle Beach. Personality should be Palmetto Greens’ nickname because there is so much to be offered, found, played and conquered.
Palmetto Greens’ layout consists of 6,345 yards of eighteen unique holes that are sure to provide visually stunning views of man-made 15 ft. waterfalls and the distinction of several grasses running in contrast along the fairways in defiant unison. The L93 Bentgrass greens are sure to please any golfer as they roll like a gentle breeze coming off the ocean to cool even the hottest day. Palmetto Greens’ greens are not too overwhelmingly unreadable, but will challenge any player who finds himself on the wrong side of the hole. The fairways are Norman Bermuda, and anything that has “Norman” in the name is sure to be in the top tier of innovation in golf course turf.
As far as the waterfalls, Palmetto Greens boasts three, two of them on par 3’s. Just make sure you make it over the cascading water and you will be just fine. The waterfalls are just a couple of risk-reward obstacles as white sanded bunkers make you think twice of using the big stick off the tee or the shortest iron in the bag for short shots.
Just off of Highway 9 in the North Myrtle Beach area, Palmetto Greens can be easily accessed from anywhere in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Calabash, and Surfside Beach. Highway 31 is a great help from Surfside and Myrtle Beaches.
Below, you find some of the rates you can find by booking your future tee time with Myrtle Beach Golf Directors...

03/13/08 – 04/27/08                $102 - $112
04/28/08 – 05/11/08                $97 - $107
05/12/08 – 05/18/08                $64 - $74

Give Palmetto Greens a chance to show you what it is now made of after a two year facelift. Personality will come out of the course and scream pure playability. Now one of the newest courses in Myrtle Beach, it is sure to attract every skill level of golfer as the fairways are wide (to an extent), the greens are large (to an extent), and trouble should not bother if you stay where you should. Palmetto Greens Golf and Country Club: Personality.
