Double-tee Diagram
Ever wonder why you can't find a 10 o'clock Tee-time when you go on a golf vacation? The reason for the unavailable time is "double teeing", or even "triple teeing" if they have three nines. We put the table below together to help you understand what's happening and how to save yourself some time when booking your Myrtle Beach golf package.
This is an example of how most tee sheets look in Myrtle Beach. Everyone wants that ten o’clock tee time, but
as you can see below, it does not exist. For example, the golfers starting on hole 10 at 8:30 MUST make the turn to hole 1 at around10:40.

Double teeing has several advantages for the golf course. First, there is an average of about 43 tee times on a "single tee" course. On a "double tee" course, there is an average of about 68 times. This translates into 100 more golfers on a golf course when double teeing. Second, the course reaches its' capacity of players in half the time. If a course is single teeing, it should take about 4 hours for the course to be completely full. When double teeing, the course gets completely full in about 2 hours.
Third, it all comes down to money. The more golfers that a course has on any given day, the more money the course makes. Not only in green fees and cart fees, but courses make more money in breakfast sales, lunch sales, beverage cart sales, and merchandise sales. So if there are 100 more golfers on a course, who paid an $80 green and cart fee, and those golfers buy breakfast for $5, lunch for $8 and four drinks at $3 each, that turns into an extra $10,500!
